Everyone who shares on this 2023 word blog post, helps someone, offers support, shares their successes, etc. will be entered in an awesome end of year giveaway that includes books, bling and more! Bookmark this page and return often to comment during the year!

Let's help keep each other motivated to work on our word this year. Here are 4 simple tips to help along the way.

Befriend motivation
Write your word down on something that you see frequently every day - bathroom mirror, fridge, the office, car dashboard, etc.. Record your word into your phone and play it back. Have your Echo or Alexa remind you of your word throughout the day.

Ignore those negative thoughts
Your thoughts matter, as thoughts influence your emotions, attitude, and behavior. You can train your brain to become more positive and positive affirmations about your word are a great place to start.

Nothing changes if nothing changes
If you want 2023 to be different and focus on your word - you need to be different. You have to make the effort to make some changes in order to accomplish your goals and make strides with your word.

Be realistic
Be realistic about what you can accomplish in reference to your word this year taking into account your personal and work obligations. Set milestones and celebrate progress along the way during the year.

Time is a blessing. I need to work more on my timing this year so that I can get all my school stuff done and read when I can!

My word is growth. I want to work on growing personally because I’ve come to realize that I’m stuck in the past and need to move forward and accept the changes that naturally come.

I feel this one. If we're always dwelling on the past or "stuck" there, we can't move forward to all the wonderful things that are in store for us. :)

My word is moment. My goal is to be present for a moment of joy, and that might make a memory. If I am present only for a moment of anger, instead of lingering, I acknowledge the anger but don’t let it own me. If I am present for a hug, really present, the endorphins give good things to my body, thus my health. I have many more examples of the difference a moment can make. It doesn’t seem like much, but it can make a difference to someone’s world.

Thank you for sharing. I can understand choosing the word Moment. Being in the moment can certainly make a huge difference for you and those you're in the moment with. :)

My word constantly changes but I have noticed that the underlying theme is Acceptance. Not just accept where I am and leave it but learning to accept where I am (mentally, emotionally, financially and career wise) and adjust the plan. Sometimes that means doing nothing about whatever it is for right now or permanently. Sometimes is means looking at myself and reflecting to correct my behavior or thought or simply taking a step back and trying again. Like you said, Diana, nothing changes if nothing changes and sometimes that means YOU (I) have to change - the thinking, actions or words. Thanks for the reminder and the encouragement.

Oh my gosh, La'Jacinth. I so feel your post. I believe women should be more supportive of each other and I'm happy you're encouraged.

The thing I am focusing on this year is self-care. I let myself get way to beat down this past year. for the sake of my health, I need to do a better job of taking better care of myself. I have got to stop putting my family first all the time while neglecting myself.

Women are guilting of putting everyone else first. It's hard though, right? We're important too and we have to take care of ourselves.

I'm having trouble focusing on one word for the entire year. Putting it a word on the mirror, fridge etc is an excellent idea.

I know. When I was posed with the challenge, before I shared it in the newsletter - I had 3, and settled on consistency. If you have more than one, why not post them around the house or wherever you'd notice them frequently. No need to limit yourself, right? :)

For 2023 my focus is on free will and choice.
I always have a choice. My sister always has a choice. My best friend has a choice.
They aren’t always the most glorious or awesome options to choose from but free will exists and I’m living in the US so I can always choose what I’m gonna do about whatever it is that’s wrong.

It’s something Ive learned from the variety of romance I’ve read in the last 2 yrs. I have a choice to make changes and no one is going to do the work for me.

my word is kindness, kindness to ones self and kindness to others. too often we think unkindly of ourselves . we view our bodies so harshly in ways we would never view others. i want to change that. and offer kind words to others. a simple complement can really brighten ones day.
